Backpack Program

Grace Community Church participates in the Montgomery Public Schools Backpack Partnership. In 2021, we began partnering with Jefferson Davis High School. The Backpack Program works like this: Each week, volunteers sack healthy foods and snacks that a child can eat over the weekend. The sacks are delivered to the school on Friday morning. School officials identify the children who will receive the sacks of food and place the sack in each child’s backpack at the end of the day on Friday.

What’s in the bag?

Contents may include:
Breakfast Items
  • Oatmeal packets, granola bars, cereals
Canned/Boxed Goods
  • Beans, ravioli, mac&cheese, soup, meats, fruits
  • Peanut butter & jelly, fruit cups, pudding, crackers
  • Shelf-stable milk, juice boxes/pouches

Pack: Help us fill bags with all the donated food. We will pack up the food and pray together on Wednesday nights starting at 5:30pm.
Shop: We will have an ongoing food drive whereby people can bring non-perishable items to the church. We welcome all non-perishable items. Items can be dropped off at the church on Wednesdays from 5:30pm – 7:00pm and on Sundays from 8:00am – 12:00pm.
