DIRECTOR OF MUSIC MINISTRY 
Grace Community Church is a new church plant in the City of Montgomery. Our official launch date is April 1, 2018. Grace is made up of a wide range of amazing people from all ages, and backgrounds. Grace is looking for a ministry-focused, Christ-centered musician to help further our mission.
 
Responsibilities & Tasks 
  • Familiarity of, and agreement with, the theology and practices of Grace Community Church.
  • Collaborates with the Pastor in planning all worship services by providing necessary consultations and assistance. This consists of selecting music (hymns or praise songs) for the weekly worship service and other seasonal services appropriate to the liturgical season, lectionary themes or sermon series theme.
  • Demonstrates the ability and desire to guide and direct a Christian music program in traditional and contemporary settings and sensitivity to what makes worship effective.
  • Develop the proficiency of the program through weekly rehearsals, coaching including but not limited to: A weekly praise team rehearsal and brief rehearsal prior to Sunday service.
  • Organize and maintain the music library.

Music/Ministry Competences – Proficiencies – Skills
  • Must know how to deliver a worship set in a manner that people encounter God during the service; how scripture, prayers, music and songs tie-in together; how to minimize distractions; how to seamlessly transition from one song to the next; how to engage the congregation in participative worship; what the different worship progressions are and how they can be used; how to leverage technology in ministry and so on.
  • Proficient in teaching, advising, directing and performing in necessary musical areas/entities to include but not limited to: keyboard, choral and voice. 
 
Compensation & Benefits
This is a part-time position. The salary range and work hours will be negotiated during the application and interview process. No benefits are offered with this position.
